Well … the precipitation that was forecasted to hit the Continental Divide this evening came a little early … It started dumping as the park crew arrived at the hill at 8 a.m. and is still coming down as I type. Low visibility … sideways snow … these are the conditions we love here at LT, so there was no complaining.
The warmer temperatures gave the snow a great consistency today; fast and cheesebuttery. Made for fantastic turns, a few face shots and mad grins. The rapidly faling snow gave the impression of a powder day with tracks being filled in as you lapped the chair.
FrontCountry Park was open with six features including: 15-foot flat box, 20-foot rainbow box, a tank bonk, 20-foot down culvert, 20-foot street style down rail and a 10-foot flat box. As you may have guessed … we’ll need a good bit more snow before we can use the new Park Bully groomer to start pushing some tables and what not.
With this weather system expected to be over the area for a few days, conditions will do nothing but improve. It’s supposed to dump all night, so Sunday will be money and next Powder Thursday could be … E-Word (epic). Just sayin.
Hope to see you all up there tomorrow. Namaste!
